Volunteers needed for the 2017 Crozet Trails Crew 5K Trail Race
Calling all volunteers: It’s time to gear up for the 8th Annual Crozet Trails Crew 5K Trail Race! The race will be held at 8am on Saturday, October 7th, the morning of the Arts & Crafts Festival. Volunteer activities begin the week leading up to the Race. Please sign up below and encourage friends and family to volunteer, too.
Announcing our race for 2017!
When: Saturday, October 7, 2017
Where: Claudius Crozet Park, Crozet, Virginia
7-8 a.m.-Day-of registration/packet pick-up at Crozet Park YMCA
8 a.m.– Kids Run starts
8:30 a.m.– Start of 5K race
9:30 a.m. (or earlier)– 5K awards ceremony
9:45 a.m.– Timing closed (walkers can take their time, the course won’t close until all participants finish)
10 a.m.-6 p.m.– Crozet Arts and Crafts Festival
The Kids Run course: The kids run (for kids aged 1 to 7 years) will start at the 5K start line (just south of the soccer field) and will be run around the soccer field so that the kids will be visible from the field at all times. Parents are welcome to run/walk with their kids. No fee for kids run, but please include their info on the registration page (see below).
The 5K course:
The Crozet Connector Trail (Crozet Greenway), starting and finishing at Crozet Park. This is a somewhat rugged trail course with a few stream crossings and varied trail conditions through scenic eastern Crozet. Prepare to get dirty, but in a fun way. 🙂
- 1-day-only access to the Crozet Connector Trail (Thanks to the property owners who have granted 1-day race access).
- Race shirt and prize give-away eligibility ($20 value).
- Entry into the Crozet Arts and Crafts Festival for the day ($6 value).
- Overall male and female winners of the 5K race will have a trail bridge named in his/her honor (PRICELESS).
$20 on-line, $25 Friday October 6 (6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Crozet Library parking lot) and day-of race.
Support the work of The Crozet Trails Crew (CTC), made up of community members who are interested in helping plan, build, and promote pedestrian and bicycle trails in and around Crozet, Virginia.

Take a walk on the Crozet Connector Trail, guided by members of the Crozet Trails Crew. This trail is adjacent to the neighborhoods of Westhall, Foothill Crossing, Western Ridge, and Westlake Hills, with plans to connect to Claudius Crozet Park. Meet at the kiosk at the eastern (right) end of the parking lot in Crozet Park (near the playground), prepared for an approximately 3 mile walk on uneven ground. Wear sturdy shoes and carry water; a hat and insect repellent is recommended. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Sunday, April 9, 1:00 p.m. Four Kings 4K Trail Run
Starr Hill is sponsoring this opportunity to get out on the trails.
Thursday, April 13, 7:00 p.m. Crozet Jam featuring Trail Songs
Get together with your neighbors to sing and play, including a selection of songs to inspire your trail explorations.
Saturday, April 22, 10:30 a.m. Earth Day Guided Trail Walk
Meet at the Starr Hill parking lot and let members of the Trails Crew show you part of the Crozet Connector Trail. Finish up back at Starr Hill, where you can have lunch from the food truck.
Thursday, April 27, 6:30 p.m. CTC Meeting
We’ll be holding our regular monthly meeting at Starr Hill. Come early for dinner; there will be a food truck.
