8:30am- Crozet Trails Crew 5k will use graduated start lineup with runners in front and walkers in back. All are welcome!
9:45am- Timing closed (walkers can take their time, the course won’t close until all participants finish)
10am– 5k awards ceremony
10am-6pm– Crozet Arts and Crafts Festival (http://crozetfestival.com/)
 
The 5k course:
The future Crozet Connector Trail (Crozet Greenway), starting and finishing at Crozet Park. This is a  somewhat rugged trail course with a few stream crossings and varied trail conditions through scenic eastern Crozet.
 
The PERKS:
 1-day-only access to the future Crozet Connector Trail (Thanks to the property owners who have granted 1-day race access).
 Race shirt and prize give-away eligibility ($20 value).
 Entry into the Crozet Arts and Crafts Festival for the day ($6 value).
 Overall winner of the 5k race will have a trail bridge named in his/her honor ($400 value).
 Use the locker room facilities at the Crozet Park YMCA following the race (priceless).
 
Fee:
$20 on-line, $25 Friday October 11th (6pm-8pm at the new Crozet Library) and day-of race.

Community Tree Planting Event-

Join us after the 5k race for a tree planting event that will aim to highlight some of the new trails in Crozet. Come to Crozet Park between 10am and 2pm and help us plant some trees. There will be food, live music, infomational booths, trail tours, and an instructional session of tree care and pruning.
Bring your family and come help make Crozet Park even more welcoming and attractive.

Details of the 5k race:

Please arrive by 8:00am, race will begin at 8:30.
The day will start with a 5k run around the WAHS cross-country trail, starting and finishing in front of Trailside coffee, where there will be informational and vendor booths, as well as raffle ticket sales. There will be a 1-mile fun run/walk as well, just after the 5k race.

Details of the Pedestrian Challenge:

The Pedestrian Challenge will be from 10-2pm and will take place all over Crozet. Crozet residents and guests are invited to walk and/or bike to the participating businesses, schools, churches and other locations. The goal of the Pedestrian Challenge is to encourage you to experience how easy (or difficult) it is to walk and bike around Crozet; to your church, your kids school, the Farmers Market, etc. This adventure may also open your eyes to all the convenient and hometown businesses we have right here is Crozet.
 
As a bonus, at each location you will receive a raffle ticket. Tickets will be collected in several boxes around town by 2pm and the raffle drawing will be held later that afternoon. The more raffle tickets you collect or purchase, the better your chances to win.  Raffle items are being donated by local businesses as well as regional businesses that support our mission.
