About the 5K
The Crozet Trails Crew is 5K is our organization’s major fundraising event and fun way for our community to support our mission to build and maintain trail systems throughout Crozet. Our mission is connect communities with trails and greenways and offer a chance for all to connect with nature.
This event has grown so much in popularity that we have expanded to offer a Family Fun Run for persons wishing to simply enjoy the day at their own pace and a 10k for the hardcore runners looking for a little ‘extra’ challenge.
General Information
Each year we will post information about the event in the months and weeks leading up to the date. Registration takes place online and we place our check-in locations in Crozet Park. All proceeds go to the Crozet Trail Crew to support the event and our organization’s efforts throughout Crozet.
Kids under 7 years old can participate in the Family fun run for free if they are accompanied by a registered participant.
5K Course
The 5K course starts in Crozet Park and follows a rustic trail with plenty of roots, rocks, and ruts. The 5K loop brings you right back to the park at the end.
Family Fun Run
There is a shorter option that still gets you out on the trails, the Family Fun Run. The course will start in Crozet Park and go by the dog park. After the bridge it will turn left on a recent extension of trail(~.75-mile) and back to the park.
10K Course
This year we will have a limited 10K Trail Race! It will loop by Lickinghole basin. It will cross Lickinghole creek (you might get your feet wet) we’re currently fundraising for a 50 foot bridge to connect the trails here. If you can please donate to help with the bridge.
After Party
We end our event with a post race party on the Crozet Park festival grounds and pavilions that includes live music, beer and food.
Prizes
There will be prizes for overall male and female: first, second and third (first place male and female get a bridge named in their honor!) There will also be a few prizes raffled off to all participants.
Registration
Register here for the 2024 5K, 10K or Family Fun Run! Register ASAP to make sure you get a T-Shirt. Day of registrations will not be guaranteed a T-Shirt.
Volunteer
If you’re not running, please consider helping our Crew set up, register, photograph, etc. the event. We need a lot of volunteers to help with this event and we would love your support! Sign up to volunteer!
