Albemarle County Parks and Recreation staff have flagged a new route to connect Park Ridge Drive to the Crozet Connector Trail in Foothill Crossing. The next step is for us to get out there and clear the route. We will be using loppers, pruners, and saws to remove underbrush and obstructing branches. We may also, depending on the slopes we encounter, use shovels and rakes to create areas where we bench into the hillside.
Meet at the bus stop near the intersection of Park Ridge Drive and Raven Stone Road at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, July 8. Long pants and sleeves recommended, as well as work gloves and bug spray; wear sturdy shoes or boots (no sandals or flipflops). Bring your own water.
Please review our safety guidelines before joining a work day.
Sign up here so we know how many tools to bring and so we can contact you if weather requires a postponement. But feel free to show up even if you don’t sign up. Come when you can, leave when you must!
