We had a great turnout and finished clearing the trail corridor for the new connection from Park Ridge Dr to the Crozet Connector Trail. It’s open! But not finished, so be very careful. There are several steep parts, especially near the top. You will also see many small trees cut off about waist high. Beginning next week, a county crew will be using their excavator to pull out the trees and move dirt to level off the steepness.
I would avoid the trail until then unless you’re willing to traverse short, steep areas. I expect it will be even more slippery when it’s wet, so be careful.
The new entrance is a short distance to the right of the previous trail. Look for a small orange flag until we get the trail sign back up.
