Sorry for the late notice, but if any of you want to get dirty and do some trail building over the next few weekends, this is for you:
Preddy Creek in northern Albemarle County (plug this address in to Mapquest: 3757 Burnley Station Rd Barboursville, VA 22923) I’m not sure it’s 3757 exactly, but you will see the cars and the people in the field on your left.
These will be major workdays with many volunteers and so it’s a great way to learn about trail work, if you are new to the party.
*************
In the afternoon of Saturday August 28th, we will gather at the Grayrock ponds trail to begin work on an erosion issue. This day will be dedicated to refining our process in preparation for an intensive neighborhood workday later in September (date TBD).
If you are interested in learning about installing steps and mitigating erosion on a heavily used trail, please call or email me (emmittster@gmail.com) and I’ll let you know the time to meet and where to park (carpooling from off site is strongly recommended).
Grab your shovel and come join the fun!
