–We got a $50 donation from Green Olive Tree; have about $350 in account.

Discussion of Building Activities:
–Mike asked about using Old Trail’s trails etc for Oct 15th Crozet Trails Day, esp. w/ Jarmens’ Gap sidewalk going in; Jessica explained why we’d prefer to use Crozet Park (Partnership with Crozet Park, use the new greenway alignment, larger area for parking and booths, central location…)
–Preddy Creek, June 11th–go on your own, have some fun!
–Byrom Park, June 18th: to build connectors for loop; they want to dedicate this area on Aug 15th; this and other workdays will soon be on our new website; has a parking lot large enough for horse trailers, restroom; Tucker Rollins will be at the site on the 18th.

Discussion of Planning Activities:
–Crozet Trails Day: Sat, Oct 15th, 9 – 12; 5K run from 9 til 10 (Anytime Fitness), Kids Run from 10 – 10:30; booths, raffle tickets, Adventure Scavenger Hunt: all day on your own NOT BY CAR—go to various businesses and get your booklet stamped (raffle ticket purchases get you more stamps?), must turn in booklet by 5PM to designated boxes around town NEED VENDORS FOR HUNT (Parks and Rec Development person will do this contacting), meeting for this in July.
–July 2nd Parade: Jessica, Linda, Mike, Dan, Eric will walk in it (4-5PM); we will be allowed to have a booth if we sell water at the park (5-9PM)—need folks to take shifts.
–Hats: available for $12 (less if more want them)—email Jessica if you want one.
–Scouts: June 25 workday at Beaver Creek.
–Schools: (Mike) At the CCAC meeting no schools attended although five were invited (administrators and PTOs). The CCAC people were very disappointed as this was a special meeting set up for the walk-to-school effort. Henley School is not interested in walking because of crosswalk and kids being “in the woods.” Principal at WAHS is OK with the idea of walking but has concerns about bike racks and the locker size not accommodating helmets, etc. Mike has decided to join WAHS PTO next year so he can facilitate progress on this effort. It was suggested that we engage Barbara Massey from the school board to foster support among the schools. Some county schools allow it, maybe we should find out which ones. Regarding Crozet Elementary School crosswalk grant: still in the works.

Next Group Meeting:
Thursday, July 14th
