Crozet Independence Day Parade and Celebration this Saturday, July 5!

If you have ever walked/run/biked the trails, volunteered for a CTC workday, attended the annual 5K, or simply support our efforts to plan and build the Crozet Connector Trail, please join the Crozet Trails Crew as we strut our stuff in the Crozet Independence Day Parade and Celebration this Saturday, July 5! Wear your CTC (or other Crozet-related) T-shirt, bring a bag of candy to throw (no chocolate please), and meet at the Crozet Elementary School parking lot at 3:45-4:00 pm (note new earlier time) (parade begins at 5:00 pm). Look for Bob Dombrowe on his tractor with our banner; as the parade line-up is determined, we may be moved to a side street. We will have bottled water for participants, but bringing your own can’t hurt!

When we arrive at Crozet Park, CTC will be staffing the Starr Hill Beer Tent and CTC information table at the CIDC from 6:00-10:00 pm. The beer truck slots are filled, but the CIDC itself has many more job openings! Please support the Crozet Park (as they support us) by volunteering a couple of hours to make our hometown July 4th celebration a success. Sign up to volunteer at www.SignUpGenius.com/go/30E054CAEAA23A13-crozet5 and thanks in advance!

At our last workday, we erected signs provided by Albemarle County outlining the trail’s purpose and rules. We also mapped the path of a future connection from Foothill Crossing to the Crozet Connector Trail.

Registration is now up and running for the 4th annual Crozet Trails Crew 5k Trail Run on Saturday, October 11, 2014. More info and RaceIt signup link at http://crozettrailscrew.org/crozet-trail-days/about-the-2014-ctc-5k-race/

Our next CTC monthly meeting is Thursday, July 24 from 6:30-8:00 pm at Anna’s Pizza.

Have a Glorious Fourth!
