The Trails Crew was out at Lickinghole Basin again, to replace a bridge that had seen better days. The weather cooperated, and we had enough hands to finish up while the sun was still shining. Thanks especially to Lucas and Andy, from the Field School, for their interest in trail development.  

The crew had a productive morning re-routing the trail around a marshy spot on the basin and placing our first bench, in a nice shady spot with a view of the water birds. It’s just a short walk to enjoy the natural beauty of this lovely area right in Crozet!  

Spring weather has brought out the Trails Crew on several work days recently. We have made improvements to a bridge next to the Dog Park in Crozet Park, adding hand rails. Ten trail lovers showed up to tidy up the Creekside Trail in Old Trail. It’s in good shape and ready to walk! Just watch out for the muddy entrance to the trail at the western end, due to ongoing construction in the area. Thanks to all who came to help on a cold morning.
