    5K/10K Trail Run October 24

Registration is open for our annual Trail Run!

The Crozet Trails Crew’s 5K is our organization’s major fundraising event and fun way for our community to support our mission to build and maintain trail systems throughout Crozet. Our mission is connect communities with trails and greenways and offer a chance for all to connect with nature.

The 5K course is limited to 250 participants! The race starts in Crozet Park and continues on the Crozet trail to the east of the Park (rustic trail, so plenty of roots, rocks, and ruts), and finishes back at Crozet Park.

The 10K Trail Race is limited to 75 participants! It loops by Lickinghole basin, crossing Lickinghole creek (you might get your feet wet) to Chesterfield Landing and back.

The Family Fun Run is a shorter option that still gets you out on the trails. The course starts in Crozet Park and goes by the dog park then uses a recent extension of trail out and and back to the park. Kids under 7 years old can participate in the Family fun run for free if they are accompanied by a registered participant.

Post race trails fest from 11am – 1pm includes pancake breakfast- made from scratch, live music from Susie and the Pistols, Starr Hill beer, Henley’s cider, coffee from Yellow Mug.

    More information and registration here:

If you’re not running, please consider helping our Crew set up, register, photograph, etc. the event. We need a lot of volunteers to help with this event and we would love your support!

    Volunteers Needed for 5K/10K

We looking for volunteers to help make our upcoming 5K/10K race a success! We need help with race-day setup and teardown, water stations, drivers, registration, preparing pancakes, and so much else. No experience necessary — just a willingness to pitch in and have fun while supporting Crozet’s trails. Whether you can spare an hour or the whole morning, every bit of help counts.

We need a lot of volunteers to help with this event and we would love your support!

  • Guided Trail Walk November 14

    Saturday, November 14 1:00 pm

Explore some of the beautiful trails in and near Western Park and along Lickinghole Creek in Old Trail with the Trails Crew! We will visit some areas that are noted for birdwatching and some that are just lovely areas to sit and enjoy nature. This is an opportunity to see some of the more recent Trails Crew work on the western side of Crozet.

Plan on a 2 mile walk on dirt trails, possibly muddy in places. The route is generally flat, with two small hills to climb. Wear suitable shoes for trail walking. Bug spray, sunscreen, and a water bottle are recommended. Children welcome! Also your dog on a leash.

Directions: Enter Western Park from Brook View Road (across the street from 5029 Brook View Rd, Crozet, VA 22932) and follow the gravel trail a short way across the bridge. Immediately after the bridge, there is a trail on the left, along Lickinghole Creek. We will meet where that trail starts.
